Although I used fresh apple juice to make this soda, you can also use apple cider. The main difference between apple juice and apple cider is that apple juice is more filtered than apple cider. Therefore, apple cider is generally pulpier and cloudier than apple juice.

Ingredients:

1/2 gallon apple juice
36 ounces club soda (carbonated water)

Steps:

  • Place apple juice in a medium saucepan. Bring juice to a simmer over medium heat. Turn heat down to low and allow the juice to gently simmer for about 30 to 35 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it becomes syrupy. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  • To serve, place two or three tablespoons of apple syrup into a glass. Add carbonated water and stir. Add optional citric acid and/or cinnamon, if desired. Refrigerate any leftover syrup for up to two weeks.

4 to 5 pcs. Large apples
2 cups Water
2 cupsApple juice
1 cup Granulated sugar
1 tsp. Citric acid
1/3 cup Apple syrup
3/4 to 1 cup Club soda
Apple wedge for garnish

Steps:

  • Wash and cut the apples and remove the seeds.
  • Combine the apples with water and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes before removing and letting it cool. Make sure the apples are soft.
  • Blend the apples and strain to the bowl about two times to remove the pulps.
  • Pour into a glass and top off with club soda.
  • Garnish with apple slices and serve.
