Ingredients:

2 lbs crabs (alimasag or alimango )
1 can 7-up or any lemon soda (330 ml can)
salt to taste

Steps:

  • Rinse crabs in running water to remove all the dirt. Drain for 5 minutes to remove excess water.
  • Arrange crabs in a wide pan and pour in 7-up (or any kind of lemon soda). Season with salt to taste ( I used a teaspoon of salt).
  • Cover pot and bring into a quick boil. Once it starts to boil, reduce heat to medium fire and simmer crabs for about 15 minutes. Turning once to evenly cook the crabs.
  • Turn the heat off and keep pot covered for about 5 minutes to allow the remaining steam to cook the crabs.
  • Transfer in a serving dish and serve with steamed rice and combined vinegar, garlic, chopped chilies and ground pepper for dipping. Enjoy!
